Bernadette, my love!

I've wanted a pet for a very long time. A cat, preferably, but I'd settle for anything. When I get my own place I will have cat(s), fancy mice, a tarantula, those goldfish with the bugged-out eyes, and frogs. Maybe a hedgehog or a chinchilla at some point, too. As for now, I can't get a cat because my grandmom is allergic, can't get a dog because the house is too small, can't get any kind of mice/hamster/guinea pig because they "draw other rodents".... basically I am denied the privilege of taking care of an animal unless it is a fish approved by my dad that could live in his already established tank. OH! I totally forgot! I will also have a pig when I have my own place. Anyway, after months of being promised a fish to call my own, by dad totally surprised me and took me to the pet store after class tonight where I met.... drum roll please.... Bernadette!!

The picture is pretty much actual size. She's about the length of my pinkie, and I don't even know if she's a she, but I'm so incredibly excited! ALSO... the reason we even went to the pet store was because I needed to get notebooks and Target is right by the pet store.

HOLY CRAP CHECK OUT THESE NOTEBOOKS (and the planner i got from the pet store)!!!!!

to top it off I ate a pomegranate when I got home. life is good.

dad in the snow

weekend adventures

Now that my grandmother is home from the hospital, I have to take care of her full-time. Even though this includes helping her walk, go to the bathroom, breathe, eat, etc.... it also includes hanging out all day and night with the coolest person I have ever met. Ever. I've also decided to bone up on my crocheting skillz and watch Star Trek: TNG in its entirety. This is going to be a very different Christmas Break than I had originally planned, but I am determined to make it just as awesome. Today we are going to watch Love Actually (inspired by us watching Jude Law on R&K) and Gram and I are going to watch The Big Bang Theory tonight after 2 weeks of her being without her Sheldon (Jim Parsons [who isn't bad looking] made the People Sexiest Dudes list and Matthew Gray Gubler did NOT, what???!!!).

Anyway, I want to recap the best birthday I've had in a long time, because now that I have a new bloggy jawn, I probably should. Friday 19 December 09, the night before, my mom brought home sushi. Then we watched Twilight on her new BluRay. At first I was like... uhh waste of money this looks exactly like regular movies, but then we were able to see the concealer that covered up the actor's pimples. We were also able to see Edward's lipstick. Corinne, who is my sister Emily's friend (and pretty much my other sister) and I got Em to watch with us and we had good times pausing at all the crazy Jasper faces. (I'm team Charlie btw).

Saturday, 19 December 09, the day I turned 22, my mom and I took the bus to Neshaminy. The only things I wanted for my B-day were for my grandmom to be home from the hospital and snow. Well Friday she came home and Saturday... I got my snow, in abundance!! Mama had ordered tickets to the 10:50am showing of New Moon earlier in the week, and we braved the storm to make good on that. For the first half hour of the movie we were the only 2 people in the theater. It. was. Awesome. It was really great just hanging out with my mom and not being yelled at by her. On the way home we shared my earphones and I introduced her to some new music, like Tupac and N*SYNC's 'Dirty Pop'. Watching her bob along to the music was good times, and she looked like the whitest of whites. When we got home I opened my
gift... I knew what it was, but i was still excited to get a MAGIC BULLET!!! When I took the bus to my dad's I was in love with the foot of snow on the ground so i just fell in it and stayed there. They had to come and get me when they realized I had been out there a while. I wish we had a frozen lake in Philly. Sooo anyway, my dad took me to the kitchen and opened the fridge where I beheld the Glorious Once-a-Year Homemade Strawberry Cheesecake courtesy of my dad and sisser. oh man. Emily and I played Scattergories for a while and then we went to sleep. AWESOME DAY. Last year I just stayed in and had a WaWa meatball sandwich (<3)>

Cheesecake OMG.
